I was working in my garden in the afternoon, weeding and planting. Beans. I am a bit late but nevertheless, I am sure that there will be some crop in the summer. My garden is getting nicer and nicer every day. Some seedlings are eaten by slugs and snails but they have to eat, too. There is plenty of everything. Pumpkins are again occupying the beds.
When I came back to the backyard of the house, I heard our little neighbor approaching the fence. That 'green fence' she was referring to in her letter to us. She was thrilled to see the little black kitten again and really, the little one heard voices and whining it ran to her. I gave it to her over the fence and she promised to take it. She's got the names ready; if it is a she, it will be Ajša, if it is a he, its name will be Sky.
Špela is a very clever girl, I suppose she is one of the best in her class. I thought that such girls existed only in the Hollywood movies because from what I heard in our long conversation really amazed me. I have never known a girl like that in my life. She is a daughter of rich parents who obviously give her anything she desires. She likes to brag. Not that I don't sometimes but I do it for a different reason. She brags to show people that she is rich and the best, I brag because I want to share the joy I feel when I have something new or something that I made.
I heard sentences like these:
"I don't really like to speak to those who have grades 4-1 at school." 5 is the best mark you can get in our school system.
"We have a boat, it is 15 m long."
"We were in Greece for 2 months with the boat last year".
"I start to throw up when I am insulted."
"There are only fat boys in my class."
And so on.

Right, these might sound like quite normal sentences but hearing her it was not like that. They were the words of a spoiled child. She often shouts at her mother. But I think she is her double.
In a way I enjoyed in our conversation yesterday. It is nice to know how children think and what's on their mind. To see how different I was at her age. She is 10. I like her in a special way. Because I can learn something new in life and perhaps she can learn something from me as well. She will come again to see the kitten. Today.

I'm no psycologist, but I wouldn't be surprised if she said things like that because she felt insecure. Or maybe she truly is that way to the core. Kids do say some truly interesting things. I'm not around them very much, but they certainly have some of their own thoughts and ideas to contribute.
I think you're more generous than I am, she sounds ghastly to me. I find bragging in an adult hard to bear, but I do wonder how a child learns such behaviour.
