Cooking

The first two books that I ordered last week have arrived! Both are cookbooks. One is Making Bread at Home by Tom Jaine. I borrowed this book from the library once and copied some of the recipes. It is nice to have a whole book at home, because those recipes are really good. I make Scottish baps by the recipe in this book quite regularly.
I am not a good cook, but I do bake good bread and cookies. I am not a vegetarian but I could easily be one. I don't eat much meat. In those years when I was living with B the only meat we had about two times a year was poultry. And some fish from time to time. We did eat lots of grains, from wheat to corn, and lots of vegetables and fruit. No potatoes (only French fries at McD's a few times a year, very healthy :)). In that time I started to eat too many sweets as well. We never had soy products on our menu and I find it interesting that some vegetarians eat so much of them. Big quantities of legumes and not much else is also not good for health. Not that I eat healthy food myself, I still consume too many sweets every day... :)

So, in those years we often visited Munich and while staying there we didn't cook ourselves. We visited Buxs restaurant quite often; they offer only vegetarian food. They published their recipes in little tiny books quite many years ago. Of course they were sold out. In 2005 they published a new book with the recipes which finally found a way to my home. This was the other book that arrived yesterday. I love it! Now I only have to start cooking properly. Prepare the ingredients one day before. Because usually I come home from work very hungry and cook something that is done in half an hour. It is no problem, if I am alone at home, it is more complicated when Ž is there, too because he likes eating lots of meat and loves that traditional Slovenian food. That I cook so very rarely...

I don't have any favorite food. Do you have one?

I'm afraid my favorite food is not very healthy - but, I absolutely love a good juicy cheeseburger, piled with mustard and pickles.

I'm glad you would like to play along on the letter game, how about I give you the letter B. Let me know when you get yours posted, no hurry though. Have fun. And, yes, you are right, I usually skip over the country songs on my ipod;o)

Thank you, Kari, I will be glad to play along.

Well, sometimes I go to McD's, usually ordering french fries and other fried food. We have to spoil ourselves from time to time. :)
