Happy New Year

It's been quite some time since I was here the last time. Not much has happened in my life since then. I was resting a lot, baking a bit, reading some books, spent some time with my family and also with 'angels in white', right on Christmas day. I hope your holidays were nicer than mine.
I read my diary this morning from the beginning of 2008 and it is amazing that the list of things I planned to do is almost the same as it is at the beginning of 2009. I can describe last year with one word - setbacks. To give 2009 a name wasn't easy but I decided for completion. I hope it will be a year of things completed, of fulfilled wishes and dreams. At least some of them.

I received some nice presents, one of them was a calendar. It was a great surprise, and it was wrapped so neatly with lovely card attached to it. It makes you feel happy when you know that somebody thought about you and made lots of effort just for you.I was creative as well! A made a lovely shoulder bag for my friend. I liked the pattern of the fabric and I hope she will like it, too. It is my first bag and I am quite happy with the result. I even didn't have to unstitch one stitch, which is something to be very happy about! I found the tutorial on tiny happy blog quite some time ago.I also liked the presents I prepared for my neighbors. I baked bread in flower pots (I had to experiment a lot for the satisfying final result) and wrapped some vegetable seeds to go with it. This time I wrapped all presents into paper printed with patterns by a print a day. They really looked nice and my mum liked the wrapping paper, too. Hopefully I will be able to create some myself by the end of this year. Two good things happened in the last days of 2008 as well. I payed off my loan for the house, so it is finally all mine. I am not sure if it was worth such a big price - a loss of a dear person and almost six years of living on the edge, but anyway, I have my own and only mine roof to live under now. And also my car is working now like a clock. Something to be happy about, too!

I will tell you more tomorrow, I have some other things to share with you. Nice ones! :)

Happy New Year! Congratulations on paying off your house, that is a great accomplishment. Here's hoping we all have a wonderful 2009

I baked too, and made a couple of pots of soup and chili...gingerbread cookies and M&M cookies. Our New Years eve was tarnished by a wrecked car, but no one was hurt. We went hiking yesterday - my son and I - and we saw an eagle.

Hope you have a good week,
Carol

Great job on the bag and congratulations on paying off your house. That is huge! I don't see us paying off ours anytime soon, but I can be happy for you, at least!

Dear Pina, happy new year! A year of fulfilled wishes and dreams ;-). They say we are going to have a lovely weekend and to make your new start perfect I suggest to visit Možic ;-). I was there on the Christmas eve, alone - thinking all the way how much you would love it. It's all white (more than 2 m of snow) and so peaceful ...
