Orchids

It was exactly 17:38 when I was on my way to the post office waiting for the green traffic light to turn on. Then I heard it - it was blackbird singing! Spring is on its way! Birds clearly tell us with their singing that the winter will be over soon. There's yet no sign of flowers in my garden but there is always spring or summer in my living room. I had never been so fond of orchids until one day when I was walking through the garden department of the shopping center and saw the orchids on a sale. They had no flowers, just leaves, and were in real bad condition. I bought one and wondered if it would ever bloom. Soon after plant showed white flowers and ever since it blooms. Almost constantly. Like the other one, with pink flowers which I received as a present for my birthday six years ago. It was magnificent to see both in bloom again just a few days ago. Both have about 20 blossoms.

I prefer giving cut flowers for birthdays or bulbs which can be planted outside. My mom had received so many orchids over the years that the whole bunch of them doesn't look nice anymore. It is too crowded on the window shelf and she has no more place to put plants to. Some people love plants, though this doesn't mean that they wish another one for their birthday. I know, this is the easiest way to choose a present for a plant lover but why not rather give her/him seeds instead? Or paper flowers for a change? :)

Niti vedela nisem, kakšne barve so :)

Človek postane zasvojen, ane, z odpisanimi primerki?

Pišuka, lep piščanček! :P

Pina, iskreno povedano si orhidej ne želim več :O.
V zlatih časih sem jih imela 15, bile so najbolj nezahtevne rože, niso komplicirale zaradi prepiha (v bistvu so imele rade veter v laseh :)), manj so bile zalite, bolj so vriskale od sreče.

The orchids are beautiful. It makes me want to try and grow one.

Oh and wish me luck, I had an interview for a better job today. I think it went well.

You must have quite a green thumb! The two orchids I've had never rebloomed, sadly.
