The last days of summer

I chose to be alone yesterday, in the mountains, on my favorite paths. It was foggy, but I felt great. Larches are starting to get their yellow color, rare Alpine flowers are still in bloom, humming and buzzing of insects are gone, peace and quiet have come to the mountains. Tomorrow in the evening autumn will start on calendar, but it can be felt in the air for some time already.

Hopefully I will be able to sleep in my house again tomorrow; I miss my home. My parents live totally different life from mine and their home is a bit murky and sad.

By the end of next week my home will look like new. And then comes shopping time again!

I was just thinking over the weekend that you haven't posted any baking lately! Nice cake.

I haven't been baking for many, many months. Hopefully I will start baking now when days will be shorter, but it all depends on this how things in my life will be. It is hard to do anything with a broken heart.

I have never baked such cake like it is the one a photo. Usually my mom or grandmom give me a few pieces of it (they bake it for Christmas and Easter). If you wish, I can send you a recipe once I am back in my house.

Lovely photos, Pina - thanks for posting them :) Good news that you will soon be back in your new house. Are there some trips to Ikea planned? :)

:) Yes, Emily, Ikea is on a schedule. We desperately need some closets and boxes... I can hardly wait! :)

Oh, I love Ikea! I need to get there too for some new curtains!

Dear Pina,
Your wreath is nice! I thought they were pomagranites.
A recipe would be wonderful whenever you can send one. No hurry, I don't bake much when it is warm outside either. Take care! Carol
