Love of your life

Have you found it yet? I hope so. Yesterday I finished reading a book Out Of Russia, a life story of Brian Grover who flew into communist Russia to be with the love of his life, Ileana Petrovna. I wouldn't mind if I had a man who would do this for me, but I think that such men are few and far between. I know only one such man and he happened to be my husband many years ago. Amazing story, and a brave man. It is hard to imagine what everything people had to go through to survive, and eventually perish without having at least some happy moments in their lives. If I think about all this, I am lucky, really lucky. And you are, too.

No wolves where we were howling these days. Yesterday they were probably somewhere near (young wolves were heard a few kilometers from one of our howling spots), but Ž decided not to howl due to the strong wind. I think that this was a mistake and we would spend only 15 minutes longer out there, if we did howl. I have to say that Friday night seemed magical, the stars were pinned up on the sky, Jupiter was shining bright and that wonderful smell of the pine woods - could I wish for more? Well, I guess I could... :)

Sorry, no photos this time, it was dark...

Sounds like a good book. I am always interested to read about Russia. Another one to add to my 'to read' list :)

Why do you have howling posts? Why are you trying to attract wolves? This sounds intriguing...

It is a nice book and a positive one, that's why I really liked reading it. I need some "sunshine" in my life right now...

We are trying to count how many wolves live in Slovenia. Hunters like to shoot them, it is a good trophy... and they always find a good reason for this. Two with collars were killed recently on a hunters' raid... for fun...

How people hunt animals, I don't know. But then again I eat meat so perhaps I shouldn't say anything... :(

I reckon that if they are rare we shouldn't hunt them, or there will be nothing left to show to the future generations. Especially not in the times of abundance of everything, including food. I don't think that we would like that the same happens in Slovenia as it happened in Yellowstone with the wolves. Or with Lynx in Slovenia, which was extinct in the last century due to hunting. Hunters kill wolves for trophies, not for meet...
