Vajnež

I took a day of from work, and it felt like a holiday. I was:

:: planing to go to the Kamnik Alps but woke up too late and drove to some place else. I found out that I love the Julian Alps and the Karavanke but I can't grow fond of the Kamnik Alps. My granddad loved them, though.

:: admiring the magnificent views on my path. Of course I needed more time to get to the top of my chosen destination because of all the beauties that crossed my step.

:: wondering if all the Alpine flowers have already withered away. There were only few far and between, the most interesting of all was an Alpine Sea Holly (Eryngium alpinum), a rare flower in Slovenia.

:: walking up the mountain followed by black and white sheep. I have never seen so many black sheep in one spot.

:: looking down to the Austrian part of the mountains. Very steep. It used to be a guarded border there and too many people died because of idea(l)s of a few men. Movement was limited in that area or not allowed at all. I know how precious freedom is; I lived in those times and I live now. I prefer now.

:: struggling with the strong wind on my way back.

:: happy for meeting only 6 people from morning to late afternoon. It is tiring to keep saying hello all day long and I don't like being interrupted in daydreaming over and over again.

:: thinking happy thoughts all the way up and down. This happens very rarely.

I bet I will be choosing the Julian Alps for my next walking destination. I can't wait.

I like that you wrote "It is tiring to keep saying hello all day long and I don't like being interrupted in daydreaming over and over again. "

It reminds me when I try and read when Chloe and her Dad are occupied and Leo is asleep. I get a bit impatient when I'm really into the story and they keep interrupting me and tearing me away from the action going on in my imagination. :-)
