Stress

These days have been rather stressful, there's lots of work to do. Although I like October, it has never been a happy month for me. Well, except that year when I met B after many years again. :)

Today I flipped through the pages of that little Karma book, and I would love to share with you two thoughts that I wrote down this morning that reflect my life at this moment:

Karma 1 for today: Remain centered in a moment of stress.

Karma 2 for today: Dismantle piles of things.

I will do the latter next week when I will take some days off work. I just have to relax a bit and take it easy. Take a few new photos of the life around me. Maybe create something new for my home. Too many things go wrong at the moment and I have to go away for a day or two. Maybe visit my granddad, because he is obviously saying goodbye to this world. But one can never know! :)

Have a great weekend!

Ornithological camp

Sixteen young people and six a little bit older guys and girls spent five days together in a beautiful part of Slovenia. Unfortunately I was preparing the next issue of our magazine, but I had great time with all of them anyway. I wish to join such camp again, hopefully next year. Though, I was the oldest... I can't publish any photos with portraits because most of them were in their teens, but here are some of the landscape and the "food" that we gathered on our shared trips. Who's there? Youngsters eating wild cherries. :)I found these on one of my walks around the village Grad (the white mulberries): It was planned that we would live here during the camp, but the renovations had not been finished by the time we arrived there (the castle supposedly has 365 rooms, one for each day in a year):I wish to return one day, but not alone. In a few words, this is what I experienced: beautiful countryside, quietness, slow life, youth. And fresh air. :)

I am going on a short break tomorrow and I will be back again in a week before my birthday. I am sure that you know where to find me if the weather is fine. It is time for mountains, of course! :)

On the road

Sometimes I am lucky enough to take part in a workshop or two. This time I drove all the way to Bohinj valley, supposedly a place with lots of rain. It was mostly sunny on Thursday... I spent time among friends and got to know a few people I usually had contacts only by an e-mail. It is interesting to meet people in person, getting to know their stories... I spent weekend counting birds of prey. Here: It is just beautiful up there when sun is shining, but this time, fog was coming from up the hill and from the valley, we had rain and thunderstorms, and on Sunday almost no birds due to that. A pity. There is already abundance of flowers, but the light was bad and winds were strong, and my photos are equally bad because of that. This is a white version of one of the blue gentians: The valley below: And a lonely birdwatcher: More Alpine flowers, here Auricula or bear's ear: Looks like as we were at the seaside: But we were high up the hill. So, now I am back behind my screen, preparing the second issue of a magazine which will be hopefully published by the end of June. There's still lots of work to be done!

Karma for today: Never underestimate the power of love, the power of forgiveness, the power of a kind word or deed.

Spring

Wow, I haven't been here for almost ten days! And in the meantime spring has sneaked into the land. It smells of spring, it feels like spring. Easter time is almost here, shops are full of colorful things. I have been working hard these past days, and the result is almost there! This is a sneak peak into a magazine that is yet to be published:It will be on my desk next week! Whoo hoo!

Yesterday I was on a walk after a long, long time and I was amazed at seeing frog-spawn all around and common stonechats singing like mad from almost every bush. The landscape is still dull and brown, but I could feel and see the life all around. Wonderful!

I am a bit tired after working long hours every day, and I do hope to take a few days off soon, maybe to write a post or two as well. Or read a good book, make a plan how to plant my vegetable beds this season or try to save a frog or two when they try to cross a road. Who knows! Enjoy your spring!

Karma for today: Go out and look at the stars to put things in perspective.

Tired

This is a part of an exhibition I had been working on in previous few months:I will be resting this weekend, hopefully going out to enjoy the fresh air that smells of spring, maybe also putting together some furniture from IKEA. I hope it will be a pleasant and peaceful weekend, because I've been really tired lately. Of life, trying to follow karma of today: Don't put things off; tie up loose ends as you go.
