Guitar

I have promised a friend to write a post about what I've been doing lately on Fridays afternoon, and eventually every afternoon when I come back from work. So, this is my story.

I have received a guitar when I was about 15 years old. I have never played it, so it ended up in the attic until last week when I took it in my hands again. A terrible sound was heard when I went across the strings with my fingers. And I noticed that varnish was cracked all over the surface of the guitar...But why I retrieved the guitar from the attic at all? Three weeks ago I tried to find some events to take part in on the Internet but came across a note about the guitar lessons. So, I didn't hesitate to write an e-mail which eventually led to this that I am a part of small group of people (aged 15-65) who are all trying to play some music on guitar. So far I can only say that it is not as easy as it looks but I am doing my best to play nice tunes when strings "give their voice".

Ž is not complaining when I practice, which means that I am not such a bad pupil after all. I just hope I won't give up. The fact is that I will need a new guitar first, better than the one I brought down from the attic.

Karma for today: Embrace change, and let go of fear.

Good for you! I would love to play guitar, and have taken a set of private lessons and then a class, but I can't seem to keep at it. As a matter of fact, I have no idea where my guitar is now. Somewhere in the house. Keep it up, Pina. It will not only bring joy to you, but those around you as well. :-)

Thanks, Emily! :) I hope that you will get back to it someday again, as it really brings joy to all.
