This crossed my mind today

Random thoughts:

- last Friday a friend asked me where my colleague is getting his life's energy from. She received an answer when she saw him surrounded by his five kids and wife. Last year at the same occasion I was watching his pregnant wife surrounded by her four children. They were like little angels guarding their pregnant mother. It is hard to accept that I will never be a Mama but eventually I will have to get over this.

- I dreamed about the dolphins two days ago. I hope this dream has a good meaning.

- yesterday I saw the Long-eared Owl flying over our garden again. Hopefully we will have young owls in the neighborhood in spring. I will check this in May when youngsters squeak each night, pleading for food.

- it is interesting to read old newspapers. Today I will check some articles about the International Women's Day in 1911 and Slovenia's first independence in 1918 (women helped a lot that this happened).

So, enjoy "your" day if you are a woman!

Babies

Three new babies have arrived to this world in the past week: Ian, Tisa and Tinkara. Boy was born to Ž's colleague, one of the girls to my colleague at work and the other yesterday to my cousin. Lucky guys, indeed. I wonder what their lives will be like. Being born into different families, having different parents, coming from different parts of Slovenia. But they do have something in common - they are all loved by their parents.

Day with the neighbors

Another year passed, and again I spent a pleasant afternoon and evening with my neighbors. This year I was playing games with a little girl who will be four soon. She was craving for love and affection, being ignored by her parents and siblings! Being the fourth child in a family where parents barely care for their kids isn't easy. So, we were catching frogs in the pond, I showed her the fireflies on the fields, she put a butterfly tattoo on my arm, and it seemed that she was happy with all that. Me too. It is beautiful around my home these days, in spite of the humid and wet weather. Creek nearby is full of yellow flowers and dragonflies, and wild bees are doing good work in my garden. I stop by as often as I can, it is so comforting to watch all that abundant life all around me. No doubt that the Universe is unfolding as it should.

Karma for today: Don't search after the horses you've lost; they will return in seven days.

Home, sweet home

It felt like I had lost a part of myself while being on holidays in the South. I had to go away this weekend, 200 kilometers from home, to find my soul again. It feels good to be whole once more. I met my friends, I spent time with children. They have so much to give and I admire their imagination. It is also interesting to notice how much they reflect their parents' relationship. A good relationship - happy children, bad relationship - sad children.
Interesting enough that I had played with oracle cards before I left home. I like those cards, the text is written so positively that it is almost impossible to feel bad after reading what each card has to tell you. I especially liked the one saying Give Yourself the Best. I think I did exactly that this past weekend. And while driving back home on train I realized once more that Slovenia is a beautiful country. Home, sweet home.

With children

Sometimes my work is more pleasant than other days and yesterday was one of such days. I spent it in the woods with children. There were around 500 of them coming in groups, eyes wide open. To see and hear what we have to tell them, what we can teach them. Age 6 to 10. They listened, they shared the stories with us. Each group was so different, some were just listening, some talking, too. Amazing experience. It was so obvious which teachers did their job well. I like working with children, though I have none of my own. Learning so much from them... I hope there will be more days like this.

Yesterday in the evening I went out, to the first meadow near my home. I was stunned. I watched in silence thousands of little lights blinking above the grass. It felt like magic. In a way it is. The magic of nature.
